Privacy Policy

My Local Drivers provides private car service in the Napa Valley, Sonoma, the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento through our website and app at mylocaldriversapp.com. This policy explains what information we collect from riders and drivers, why, who it is shared with, how long we keep it, and how to delete it.

Information we collect from riders

Your mobile number, used to text you a one time sign in code. We do not use passwords.
Your name and, if you give it, your email address.
Trip details: pickup and drop off addresses, ride date and time, flight details for airport rides, the vehicle you choose, notes for your driver, fares and tips.
Saved places and the drivers you rank as your favorites.
Messages and replies you send us by text about a ride.

Information we collect from drivers

Your name, mobile number, email address, company name and the area you drive in.
A photo of your driver license and your certificate of insurance. These are kept in private storage and opened only by My Local Drivers staff to review your application.
Your TCP or permit number, your vehicle, plate, and a photo of you that riders see on their trip.
Your trips, earnings, availability and time off.

We do not collect Social Security numbers, and the app does not track your location.

Payments

Card payments for rides, and driver memberships, are processed by Stripe. Your card number is entered directly with Stripe and is never stored by My Local Drivers. Driver payouts run through Stripe, which collects the identity and bank details it needs for payouts directly from the driver. We keep only what Stripe returns to us, such as payment status, the amount, and whether payouts are set up.

How we use your information

To book, dispatch, carry out and charge for rides.
To send sign in codes, ride confirmations, reconfirmations, reminders and receipts by text or email.
To let riders and drivers see what they need for a trip, such as the driver's name, photo and vehicle, and the rider's name and pickup point.
To review driver applications and keep riders and drivers safe.
To answer your questions and resolve problems with a ride.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers. We share it only with:

The rider or driver on your trip, limited to what the trip needs.
Service providers who run the service for us: Stripe for payments, and our hosting, database, email and text message providers. They may use it only to provide those services.
Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect someone's safety.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and ride history while your account is open. Sign in codes expire after 10 minutes and are deleted once used. When you delete your account, your personal information is removed right away; the date and fare of past rides are kept, without your name or contact details, for the driver's and our business and tax records.

Deleting your account

In the app, open Profile, tap Delete my account, and type DELETE to confirm. Or follow the steps at mylocaldriversapp.com/delete-account, or email bruno@mylocaldrivers.com from the number or address on your account with the subject "Delete my account". You can also ask us to see or correct your information at any time.

Security

Information is sent over encrypted connections. Driver licenses and insurance documents are kept in private storage and opened only through short lived links by My Local Drivers staff.

Children

Accounts are for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
